Anyone who watched “The Price is Right” television game show that started in the ‘70s will appreciate the Plinko-inspired casino game at Bodog. It has the same look and feel as the beloved gameshow challenge, only this one is designed as an egg hunt.
Launch a session, and you’ll get to drop the Plinko ball at the top of the circuit and watch it bump its way down through a myriad of pegs until it reaches one of the end pockets. Each pocket has a prize, so as long as you win more than you staked, you’re coming out ahead. Bob Barker would be proud.
Plinko Egg Hunt is a nice addition to our growing suite of casino games that don’t fit the conventional online slots or table games categories. It’s luck-based; however, you do make some decisions prior to dropping the ball, which we’ll explain in the sections below.
In this Egg Hunt Plinko slot review, we’ll explain how the game works, with a special emphasis on the betting and setting configurations. We’ll discuss the payouts you can win, the features that make the game unique, and finish off with a reminder about the best way to play Plinko Egg Hunt with real money at Bodog Casino. Spoiler: It’s with Bitcoin.
Gameplay & Design
Created by WinGo!, Plinko Egg Hunt is a simple casino game that begins with the betting configurations. You place a bet using the “Min –” and “+ Max” toggles until you find the dollar amount you want. When it’s set, you kick back and relax.
Similar to The Price is Right classic mini game, this version of Plinko is designed as a maze with the use of pegs. For every round, a ball, which is an Easter egg, gets dropped from the top of the grid and works its way down a pyramid of grass tufts (the pegs) until it reaches a winning end pocket.
The original Plinko may have been controlled by gravity, but this one has Random Number Generator (RNG) technology to determine the end point for the ball/egg. It’s the perfect game to play when you’re looking to relax and try your luck with something that’s different from the rest of the games in our casino—especially if you’re in the Easter spirit.
The Plinko casino game doesn’t require much in the way of strategy, but there are two decisions to be made before starting a round. The first one is the risk level. The game has three risk levels that include Low, Normal and High, making it suitable for all players. The level you choose dictates the type of payouts that will be available. High risk is more volatile and has payouts that range from 0.2X to 29X when played with the default eight lines; you can win the most with High, but on the flip side, the lower payouts are significantly lower than what you’d get with a lower risk level. For the maximum payout possible (1000X), go with High risk and activate the maximum 16 lines.
The Normal level has a payout range from 0.4X to 13X with the default eight lines. This is the medium volatility that most people look for in casino games. Meanwhile, the Low risk level has low volatility, with a range that starts at 0.5X and goes up to 5.6X when eight lines are enabled.
The second decision to make when starting a round of Plinko is the number of lines you want to play with. Plinko Egg Hunt can run with 8 to 16 lines. The more lines that are activated, the longer the round will last and the wider the range of payout outcomes, which contributes to a more volatile session. Playing with the full 16 lines comes with 17 different end pockets and the biggest payouts possible, while going with the minimum eight (the game’s default) has just nine end pockets and offers the lowest top payouts.
With both the risk level and line combinations open to configuration, it’s possible to get the perfect balance of risk and reward for everyone who wants to play Plinko Egg Hunt.
Key Features
Auto Play vs Manual
When you launch a session of Plinko, you’re automatically playing in Manual mode. With Manual, you hit the “Play” button manually for every round. A single ball is released down the circuit every time you hit the button.
Another mode of play available in Plinko is Auto play. With Auto, you choose how many bets you want to make (10, 20, 30, 50, 70, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, or 1000), and the size of each bet. Once you start the action, the eggs are released on their own, one after the other. Your payout will be displayed on a banner after the final egg completes the circuit.
If you prefer to play quickly, Auto is the better choice of the two. Alternatively, players who enjoy physically dropping the Plinko balls down the circuit would be better suited for the Manual style of play.
Odds and Payouts
At the bottom of every end pocket there’s a payout, which is a multiplier of your total bet. For example, if you bet $1 and get the outside pocket (with eight lines), you’d win $5.60.
The outside pockets offer the biggest payouts because they have the lowest odds of winning (0.00390625 or rounded to 0.39%). To see the odds of each outcome winning, hover your cursor over the payout, and a table will appear that shows the payout and odds of winning. As you move towards the middle of the circuit, the odds of winning increase. The most central end point only pays 50% of your bet since the odds are so high (0.2734375 or rounded to 27.34%).
While most online slots have Return to Player (RTP) percentages in the mid-to-low 90s, Plinko Egg Hunt’s RTP range is between 98.91% and 99.16%, making this an excellent choice for people who want good value with their gaming choices. You won’t find any other games with such generous returns.
