NFL Awards Betting Preview

NFL Awards

With the NFL regular season officially in the books, it’s the perfect time to check out the betting markets on this year’s NFL Awards. From MVP to Comeback Player of the Year, there are a number of tight races and unique storylines to explore this season.

These awards are handed out during the NFL Honors presentation, which will take place on February 5 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. With several award categories to choose from, there’s plenty of betting value to be found across the board.

Since these awards are based on regular season play only, you should already have a pretty good idea of where most players stand for each individual category. Now it’s up to the voters to carefully consider every snap, storyline and statistic from the past 18 weeks before casting their ballots.

For NFL fans and bettors who’ve been following closely this season, the NFL Awards provide a great opportunity to profit from your predictions. Before shifting your attention to the playoffs, let’s take a closer look at some of the more intriguing NFL Awards markets.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

This award has been easy to predict in recent years, with players like Jayden Daniels (2024), CJ Stroud (2023) and Garrett Wilson (2022) being runaway winners in their respective seasons. Things were a bit different this year, as several first-year players jockeyed for position throughout the season.

  • Tetairoa McMillan -2200

Despite a slow start to the campaign, McMillan is the clear betting favourite. The Panthers wide receiver led all rookies with 1,014 receiving yards this season and was a big part of this year’s resurgence in Carolina.

  • Jaxson Dart +1400

After opening the season as the Giants’ backup quarterback, Dart got his first start in Week 3 and never looked back. With his willingness to throw downfield and aggressive running style, Dart’s brash style of play captured the hearts of New Yorkers from the jump.

  • TreVeyon Henderson +2200

Henderson delivered immediately for the Patriots, relying on his explosiveness (5.1 YPC) to become New England’s primary red-zone weapon (9 TD). This award hasn’t gone to a running back since Saquon Barkley earned the honour in 2018, but Henderson certainly has a case.

Honourable Mentions

  • Tyler Shough
  • RJ Harvey
  • Ashton Jeanty

NFL Comeback Player of the Year

Whether a player is returning from a devastating injury or stepping back on the field after a long time away, everyone loves a good comeback story. The NFL has several great comeback narratives this season, but only one can be named Comeback Player of the Year.

  • Christian McCaffrey -1000

After calf issues and a PCL sprain limited him to just four games last season, the 49ers running back looked like his old self once again in 2025. The elusive rusher is the heavy favourite for this award after piling up over 2,000 yards from scrimmage this season.

  • Trevor Lawrence +600

Some fans were throwing the “bust” label out there following a disappointing 2024, but Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence bounced back in a major way. He surpassed 4,000 yards passing and finished with 38 total scores while leading Jacksonville to the AFC South title.

  • Philip Rivers +9000

A late entry to the category, Rivers’ season began in Week 15 as the 44-year-old came out of retirement to step in under centre for the Colts. While he went 0-3 this season, he played surprisingly well and gave the NFL its first-ever grandfather at quarterback.

Honourable Mentions

  • Dak Prescott
  • Aidan Hutchinson
  • Stefon Diggs

NFL Most Valuable Player

As football’s top individual honour, the MVP award tends to draw the most attention among bettors. This has become a quarterback-dominated award and that’s once again the case this year. The MVP race has been followed closely all season long, with two players emerging down the stretch.

  • Matthew Stafford -175

Expectations were low for Stafford heading into the year, but the Rams quarterback played brilliantly while leading one of the NFL’s most pass-heavy offences. Stafford led the NFL in passing yards (4,707) and passing TDs (46), guiding Los Angeles to a 12-5 record.

  • Drake Maye +140

His critics may point to a weak strength of schedule, but Patriots quarterback Drake Maye took a massive leap forward in his sophomore season. Maye led the NFL in completion percentage (72%) and QBR (77.2), leading New England to their first AFC East title in the post-Brady era.

  • Trevor Lawrence +35000

He may not have much hope of winning this award, but the mere fact that Lawrence is on this year’s MVP shortlist speaks to the type of season he’s had. The former first overall pick put the Jaguars on his back en route to a 13-win season, the second-best mark in franchise history.

Honourable Mentions

  • Bo Nix
  • CJ Stroud
  • Caleb Williams
